Hello from southeast Michigan. I got back into photography after I retired. When what I see in my mind comes out of my camera, I am a happy person. Okay, it takes a lot of shots to make that happen sometimes, but it is worth the effort.

My main interests include anything in nature. Birds, animals, insects, landscapes, flowers are all on my list. I also like anything Nikon

It sounds like the time of year you like getting out and taking pictures is rapidly approaching, after a long and hard winter. Although admittedly, I'm not particularly looking forward to the blackflies and mosquitos that are going to be out in two or three months...

Thanks for the welcome, Manfred. It looks like a great place with lots of friendly and talented people. Yes, I'm waiting for the cold to go away. I agree about the mosquitoes. Our home sits in the middle of a woods and have lots of them.

Hi, Chauncey. Greetings from Ida. I've never been to Stony Creek, but I go to Lake Erie Metropark often. I live closer to the Ohio border and visit Oak Openings Preserve Metropark and Wildwood Preserve Metropark, which is my favorite. Lots of wildlife and trails. Both are super for photography. I'll have to try Stony Creek. It's a little further north, but looks like it's well worth the drive.

Photography simply provides a good excuse and/or motivation to get out there. The lasting images are just a bonus.
