I do like this one very, very much. I love the mood and the way the person and dog are rushing to their cozy home. The light in the window just makes this shot. I am a fan of an artist by the Mort Kuntzler who paints American Civil War scenes. We have a few of his prints and one of his trademarks is to include some sort of light source, just like this, with a light in a window or something similar.

Great shot John, very moody . I like the composition and the PP work a lot.

Great shot John. Love the way the light runs down hill on the side of the road. This could be a still from the opening scene of a Hitchcock film.

Beautiful! A story and beautiful lighting. It reminds me of a scene that one might see in a b&w movie.

It has all been said, expertly conceived and executed.

As a child of south east lancashire, Oldham to be precise, this is a part of the county I don't know, but it still speaks to me.

    Re: Nearly There

Thank you all for a great set of comments. I can't claim to have conceived this. I just stopped one evening on the way home from the fells and saw it. Sometimes the best way. I have to admit that the light in the window has been enhanced in PP but it seemed to fit.

Suzan, I had never heard of Mort Kuntzler but I can see what you mean. He creates atmosphere so effectively using light sources as opposed to light in general. He was also prolific to say the least

Dave I have lived around and about this part of Lancashire for most of my adult life but it has only been in the last few years that I have begun to appreciate what there is to enjoy up on the fells and over into North Yorkshire. It's what a busy working life does to you I guess.
