Thanks Grahame, I am sure he won't be to everyone's taste but I found him very alien looking and could not resist!

I like this shot much better than the more typical Audubon shot as this shot seems to show the birds...personality? I think the angle, closeup and crop work well here.

Thanks Jack! Yes they have wonderful personalities just wish I could really know what they are thinking. I am guessing a few bits of profanity would be in what ever they had to say

Thanks Chris!, I actually have one with more of the beak, not sure why it was I picked this one. I need to look at that again.

This is really interesting, Barbara. Definitely an unconventional crop and it works IMO. Your eye for composition at work again. Excellent techs and an excellent BG for this image. Nice job.

Thanks Dan! I owe a lot of the techs and PP to your awesome advice.

I'm still hanging around CIC because I'm learning something all the time. We learn from each other here. Your composition on this one is a good example. I'd never have thought of this.

By the way, was this and the "can I help you" one bird or different ones?

They were different. I shot about 15 pelicans that day. I chose each for it's unique coloring.

I wish the pelicans where I live were as colourful as yours, ours are just black and white. I'm enjoying all your shots.

I am really enjoying your pelican shots. You seem to capture their personality so well. It is hard for me to pick a favorite because I like them all. This one is special because it is such a close shot with excellent details and those eyes really bore into you. I like it!

Thanks Graham! Their colors make them so unique, that and the attitude they have is what draws me to them.

Donna, Thanks, so glad you are enjoying them! I have so much fun shooting them. They do indeed have personality and that is part of their charm.
