There is one thing very obvious to me when I view this image; you need to get up early and do more sun rise images. This is stunning!

I'm far from professional Sherwood, there are errors in this, some of which have been pointed out. Photography is a continual learning experience...that's why I love it.

It sure is nice to see a neighbor on the forum! Yeah for CT!

Beautiful shot Kim! I love the sparkles and the crisp clear sky and, and, and...

You should be very proud of this one. I read through the discussion on the high ISO are various camera settings that 'could' have been used and while you can kick yourself, I would take it as a personal challenge to do it better next time. From this perspective I would consider this a benchmark image to improve upon. While you likely won't ever be able to recreate this scene and 'do it better' you do need to pause take stock of what you did right (as well as what could be improved) and how that can be applied to future images.

As an aside, I found the discussion of manual vs. aperture priority mode very interesting as I hadn't quite looked at it that way before. I primarily shot in aperture priority but see where manual might be easier to manage than dealing with exposure compensation button. But, as others have said it is really about finding what makes sense and feels most comfortable to the shooter.

Thank you for commenting Shane. Like you said, I'll never be able to recreate this; however, I can improve with each outing... And that's definitely my goal!
