    attempted sunsets

Sunday I went late afternoon to a beach about 10 mins drive from me, Dappat Se Gat, one of my favourite spots, to try and get some 'golden hour' shots. The wind was gale force and the driving sand made staying far to painful as I made the mistake of going in shorts, gusting at times it was almost impossible to stand up.My fiancee said enough is enough, that's when I got close to her and could hear the shrieks. These few shots are the best I could manage, on the drive back home the sun set and the most stunning sunset I have seen in years took place-dam!

I like the sky in this series, third image for the foreground, first image foreground looks one-dimensional and the second image the silky waves are a bit distracting.

I like them but as John mention, they all seem sort of one dimensional to me. I don't know but it seems like the rocks should be in the shadows. Did you use a flash or open up the shadows in post?

John and David are right, they do look flat. However, I rather like that. The scene has become slightly abstracted, a design rather than a literal image, and without looking wildly overprocessed either.

I am liking the textures in these. You can feel the movement in the scene with all that business in the waves. And, unlike most sunsets, you have given most space to the interesting stuff happening in the foreground, rather than to an expanse of pretty clouds.

I enjoyed those. Thank you for sharing.

I like all three, the first one is my favourite though.

    Nice shots!
