The background isn't a problem for me. It is sufficiently blurred and dark enough to avoid being a distraction.
The only thing I wonder about is a very slight crop from the bottom so there is fractionally more space above the bird than below.
Yes. I was reluctant to lose those buds on the end of the twig but I think the overall balance is better now.
Hi Donna. Beautiful image, the BG doesn't distract at all and I like the cropped version .
I was also not wanting to crop the buds off, but I do like this better. Thanks for the critique.
Thanks ,Binnur. I appreciate your comments.
Nice capture.
Donna, what a smart little bird, and so accomodating, wish ours were as good
I think its a lovely shot and I like the pose, the background puts it into context so is great, nicely OOF so not intruding on the portrait but sufficient to see what it is.
I think this is the first time I am commenting on any of your shots because I was away for a while. This shot is soooo pretty...You got the sharpness right and the glint of the eyes right...one thing I'd like to see -- put that corner of the twig (bottom LHS) right at the corner of the frame and see if you like the twig's positioning better with the curvature . Cheers.
Donna a beautiful shot!
Nice shot Barbara. As others have said the BG works OK and the bird is well captured. Each crop is better than the one previous. Good job on this twitchy little guy.
I love the edit better....!!! not because you cropped it the way I suggested but because it adds more punch to it.
