Bali beauty

Hi all,
Just returned from Bali yesterday, had a fantastic time and hopefully got some good images.
I avoided the touristy type images and tried to capture the street scenes and the local people.
Here is the first one, a beautiful little girl called Komang. Took me a few days to get this shot, location, light and expression.
I was pretty happy with the result.

Absolutely mesmerising. I was in Indonesia a couple of years ago, Bali and further east. The faces had a special quality like this, especially the eyes.

I find it interesting as to how taking pictures of children on the street or in other public places is considered taboo in many Western countries, yet when we visit a developing country, no such issues exist. Somehow the Western media has convinced us that anyone taking pictures of children must have nefarious reasons for doing so, whereas nothing could be further from the truth.
