You just make me laugh, Norm....indeed an interesting endeavour to have to clean the screen first... Consider the first one as the backdrop deco, then... A bit more contrast will make this one interesting or increasing of the black point just a teenie weenie little bit. Just my opinion. But what do think?
Hi Norm!
Dust, crud, fingerprints are no doubt the tabletop shooter’s recurring nightmare!
Cool subject Norm. I think the first shot is the best subject wise. The second looks a little too soft to me.
I wonder if you tried shooting this at a different camera angle?
My thinking on this question is if the subject would look a little “less flat” and more dimensional if you lowered the camera angle and framed it a little more “head on” as opposed to so much from above?
Just a Theory!
As I said elsewhere (can't remember which thread, but it doesn't matter) I'm limited for space in the room I was using, but yes, within those limitations I did try different angles, but mainly by moving the subject.
What I did find was that by repositioning it there was a dense cluster of petal skeletons which couldn't be avoided.
It is obviously very delicate so I couldn't "untwine" it.
The first shot has the least dense cluster of all the shots I took.
I supose I could have removed the blue-tack in PP.
