Welcome to CiC Michael...
Thanks Michael, looks like a good read.
Thanks for the welcome!
Thank you, Michael, for providing the link to the handbook. Would come in very handy as I am thinking seriously of taking up macro shooting. My special interest, for many years, was on landscape and nature. Now that I think I am more competent I would like to venture into macro photography (to study form and patterns as abstract art) besides a beginning interest in street photography. Saving up for a 100mm macro prime lens for macro and street portraits![]()
Folks,
I remember Michael Erlewine from another photography web site that I used to participate in until three years ago. It's especially interesting to see that he has produced a handbook regarding close-up and macro photography because even three years ago he already had vast experience successfully using focus-stacking technology. I recommend that anyone interested in that type of photography at least give serious consideration to his handbook.

I would suggest you try again another time Brian (it still works for me now), you may find some of it helpful, although a fair bit relates to interchangeable lens cameras.
If you click the "general" link on the web site landing page, there is a list of many other somewhat smaller pdfs on more specific topics.
I have found it useful and I now know far more about stacking than I did before.
Michael, your photos are stunning.
Welcome and thank you![]()
