    Mini Competition #91

    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread in this forums

    Niagara Falls

Here is my entry: Niagara Falls

I went to Toronto for a conference last week, and got a chance to go to Niagara Falls and stayed ther overnight. I took some afternoon and early morning shots. Niagara Falls has been a photographic focus for many photographers, and there are so many photos about it. I just tried to do something differently, not sure if this goal has been achieved or not

It works for me Although personally, I think it's looking just a touch flat - I'd be inclined to raise the black clipping point slightly - and perhaps slight brightness and vibrance adjustments.

Colin, thanks for your comments. What is black clipping point? I'll try to enhance the brightness and vibrance a bit to see the effect.

Look - There's some idiot with a camera!

While walking to the woods for some insect photography, these guys popped their heads over the wall to see what I was doing.

The trouble was that I only had a macro lens and a large zoom with me; so I stepped back across the field until I could use my 180 mm macro. And the light was at a very difficult angle.

Anyway, I've done my best with what was available and although it might not be perfect I still like this photo.

Go for it! It was the most scary thing I have ever done! The force of the train actually pushed me back a bit and of course the driver was not happy so see someone crouching down so close and let off the horn, which made me jump out of my skin! I had my son with me (far back from the tracks) to make sure a train wasn't coming the other way.
