All in a day's cycle ride

Yesterday we did a 20 mile cycle ride in the National Park of Capo de Gata (Southern Spain). I restricted myself to one 90mm lens to see what I could come up with. Here are the results

1 - the spring flowers are just gorgeous and grow in the most unlikely of places without any help from any gardening

All in a day's cycle ride

2 - the sea is impossibly blue

All in a day's cycle ride

3 - 'someone' saw potential in what we think was an old quarry floor

All in a day's cycle ride

4 & 5 I was lucky to get this shot on the beach - five minutes later it had been 'decorated' with drying beachwear. And the sand dunes are unusual here as are the sandstone rocks - fossiled sand apparently. This beach was used in one of the Indiana Jones movies for this reason

All in a day's cycle ride

6 - And on the way back to base

All in a day's cycle ride

7 - to finish, a cheeky shot of my husband !!

A very impressive set of images. That was a good day's work with the camera.

Great series and just goes to show you can get a pretty good landscape at 90mm. I like the windmill and old quarry especially. Wonder if it was Pacasso or Dali? Being Spain it was most likely Dali.

Nicely done. I need a bike to help with zooming with my feet when I'm only carrying one lens.

    Hi Kaye,

A very nice series. Uniquely beautiful to me are #4 & #5. Love the colours in #1 & #2.

    #7

Aside - I can see dust spots in the sky especially apparent in #2

Thank you all for your very encouraging comments. Graham I agree it is definitely Dali! Christina, I have spent some of this morning cleaning..... Hopefully the dustspots will disappear today! As for these, they'll have to wait until I get home and have access to my monitor.

This morning I was up at dawn to capture the flora on camera, watch this space.....

Awesome, Kay. I'd say you rose to the challenge that you presented to yourself. Must have been a lovely ride. Nicely done.
