I like to think that I have a reasonably developed prefrontal cortex which somewhat precludes
me from doing stupid stuff that I see in your link.

Actually, hanging out of a helicopter (as long as you are strapped) is not a proplem nor a safety issue.
Funny thing, leaning out of a helicopter doesn't bother me at all. However walking across a flat roof of a single story building really scares me.
I'd never do that pose in public but I am known to lie down on a tarp just to look at what I can photograph in times of desperation of a theme...in my backyard that is..

Risking Hypothermia and Frostbite aren't the real concern in Mn in Winter. Inoperable gear is the problem. Ballheads freezing up, batteries failing, glacial autofocus are the concern!!
