Awaiting the spring thaw....
The thaw has now begun in full force as we are enjoying +5 C in Ottawa now! This scene represents a memorable cold winter with average temperature of - 16.8 C through February. All critique welcome and appreciated.

A tricky exposure. Possibly a fraction tight on the left side, but maybe you had to exclude something unwanted there. Otherwise, it works well for me.

Very nice, we are afraid of what lies below when the thaw begins.

Re: Awaiting the spring thaw....
It is already spring here in Missouri I think...but too early to do the garden yet because the soil is still frozen underneath...your spring over there if I judge it through your shot is still far too cold for me....brrrrrrr.......

Yes, I had to unfortunately crop too tightly on the left due to an unsightly bush that would have taken away, I think, from the bench.
To All - Thanks for taking the time to comment and offer positive feedback. This photo captures, for me, the essence of Ottawa having seen the coldest month of February in the city's history since record keeping began. We had an average monthly temperature of -16.8 Deg Celsius (1.7 Deg Fahrenheit for those in the USA) with many days and nights dipping below -35 C (-31 F). This beats 1934 when the average was -16.6 C (the previous record) and the average of -15.9 C in 1885, the year record keeping began. I picked a bad winter to get the "photography bug" so this picture, once framed and on my wall, will hold a special memory for frozen fingers and camera equipment pushed to the limit!
Shadowman - you were right, after two days of warmer weather now and some serious melting, hidden under the pristine blankets of snow are disappointing layers of dirt and litter. We now need the thaw to run its course so we can hopefully see some flora by mid-April.
Regards, Stu
