It is a beauty Nicola and I think you don't even need HDR to make it better. I love the colour of the sky and the misty impression of those waves (I am guessing that you used a slower shutterspeed here and that it wasn't real mist).

I read this thread by Jiro the other day (https://www.cambridgeincolour.com/fo...hread10025.htm) and some of the techniques in there would be suitable here as well I guess. I am still trying them out and noticed that there is the risk of some increase in noise, but they do make photos pop a bit more.

It a good work Nicola :)
Last time I did something similar the waves hit the rocks and some water was spilled over myself and the lens :o
It looks indeed that some lens corrections are necessary but the final result is quite interesting. I assume you have a CPF :)
However, there are two little things, oh well it's just one in fact, to point: the red triangle in the middle of the rocks and a little too red area at the area in the bottom right.
How long was the exposure ? 15 seconds ? Which aperture ?

I'm going to edit all that you've suggested. I've never corrected my lens before but it's now the time for.
to be honest, I have already seen the bright triangle in the middle, but I haven't cropped it before because I wasn't so proud for this image and I didn't want to spend much more time for PP...
but your (and other members') comment leads me to appreciate more this picture... :o:)

I like the point of view, the details, DOF and so on!!
the only thing, perhaps too saturated? but could be my bad profiled monitor...

A couple of very nice images, well done.
Can you believe I live on the edge of the Cotswold's and have not done much photography around the villages, usually because they are so full of tourists.:cool:
After seeing your images I think I may just plan to get out and try and find a quiet location or two.
Where about's in the Cotswold's did you take them?

Your photo is fine, well composed and pleasant to look at. Personally I like the reflections and the two trees in the inverted V shape

I dared to work on your image to make it pop a bit more and to apply some sharpening which it lacks IMHO.
I also changed the crop factor to 3/4 and cloned what looks like to be a traffic signal.
Of course the quality is very poor because it has been copied from the web :o
I am sure you can get it better mainly if you are shooting raw files.
BTW - Here is a good reading about image sharpening.

If you wish I can erase permanently the image I made for you. :)

Thanks for the compliment. Those tourists are a real pain aren't they :D The first shot was taken just on the edge of Bourton on the Water and the second just up the road at Lower Slaughter.
