Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
Thanks for the comments. , Yep Antonio, that's better. I have to work on my "popping", I'm still learning PP. I really like the reflection of the fence in the water.
Speaking of reflections, here is another:

This time Reed, it was a really piece of cake :D
Duplicate layer and adjust Opacity at will.
A tender mask in the whites and brighter areas to make the image pop.
That's it ! :) (Like Janis Joplin in her song)

This image is the merge of 3.
Sounds like a fun day with the camera! It is a super fun image and, not to be too strange but I like the rhythmic - shadowy line at the top. (Is that strange?)

Fiddling about with places I think I could just sit and admire until the next big flood came along.

And yet, one more place to sit until the tides washed me out to sea like so much flotsam...

It is a cantilevered part of an old building with electric wires Katy :)

Hi Antonio was that using Colour Burn on the duplicate layer ? Did you use a similar technique on Reed's earlier image ? Cheers Dave

I did...but only to a very small degree. I went in and did some HDR toning on a copy, then melded the two together, eventually painting out much of the sky. I often do an adjustments layer of levels, curves, and some others and when I am finished, I can go back and do a little selective dodging and burning on that layer, either within its own mask, or by adding a neutral layer above it. There are at least two gradient fills on the sky and one to soft light over a white to clear gradient on the bottom half of the scene to enhance the structure of the foreground rocks.

:D ha ha, I suspected as much. I did some experimenting with LuminanceHDR myself yesterday, but so far the results were disappointing (too obviously HDR). I might try it your way maybe and put the original photo and the HDR one in two separate layers and then find a nice middle ground.
Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
that's pretty much what I did..the HDR was too-too, you know..too-too, so I copied the original post edited print back onto the HDR image and used varying layer options to add and subtract. I like it, and I don't like it...weird, eh?
Re: Landscapes - Please post them here
Geesh Antonio, I may as well send my pics to you. I have Lightroom and Elements 9 and I can't get anything like that yet.
I took this on the beach at Cape Cod. I'm not sure it works but I keep going back to it. Any comment on it would be appreciated.
