Some kind of ... temple ? I don't know really ...

It is not the first time I see this kind of construction - or even far bitter - in the middle of lakes...

In the postcard herewith we can see the palace at the center above in the hill. The other construction was at our right side.
The light was terribly harsh... Perhaps the work I have done on this photo is not the best one.

Antonio, This is temple, but which I was refering is probably not temple

Thanks for your comments Antonio. I try to avoid the extreme tone mapping effects often used in HDR. I prefer to just use the technique to give an image a bit of a "lift".

Very nice image Nicola. I can't find any weak points. It's not a problem but is that a ship in the distance I wonder.

I have never tried this technique but - and as far as I can see - I like it "soft" / "disguised", like you do yourself.

Narrow / shallow DOF ? I can't see that.
I see anice image with nice tones and nice DOF, that's all

Not that bad... I mean it's OK. What is wrong about it ? I can't see anything, can you ? Don't be too harsh on yourself.
Next time try to get the Sun behind the church, perhaps you will get a better effect.

Hans could i suggest a crop somewhere in between the original and your first. I've taken the liberty of trying it out, also cloned out what was left of the trees and added a bit of mild Tone Mapping.

Dave I like what you did with the tone mapping. Gives a little more contrast but not too overdone. Tone mapping, though I have heard the term many times, is not something I've experimented with, but will have a look at some tutorials and try it out next myself. Thanks again for the comments and the effort taken to improve my image.

And yes the crop is better, don't know what I was thinking when I did that origianl crop

I appreciate the time you have taken to post your workflow. I'll take note of that and play around a little on photoshop myself.
RE the ND graduated filter. I am pretty sure I had either a 0.6 or a 0.9 on when i shot the pic. I think in future I'll preserve those sky highlights and sacrifice forground brightness as I think this is what you are driving at with your comment about meetering the sky. Good advice and thanks again

I worked on the original uncropped version, your second image.

Hans for tone mapping I use an inexpensive Photoshop plug-in called "ReDynamix" from Media Chance. This contains some of the tone mapping functionality of their stand-alone HDR software.

As far as the crop is concerned, it is interesting that Antonio came up with a very similar one to mine. I wonder what this says about us ?
