Hi Barbara I would prefer to see the whole body of the bird if possible . Beautiful bird.
You captured some detail for sure! A bird portrait.
Good portrait, Barbara. You have caught the look of concentration in the eye which makes me wonder what the subect is looking at - the next meal, perhaps.
Nicely done.
nothing wrong with a portrait... these birds have that great red eye!...
Awesome detail, Barbara. The left side of the frame adds nothing to the image. Cropping to a 4x5 format with all of the removal from the left might make it more obviously a portrait. Nicely done.
Thanks Dan. I actually have a couple of this particular guy/gal I still need to PP he/she had amazing detail in his feathers.
Nice work, Barbara. The feathers are just fantastic!!!
Good capture Barbara, that eyes spot on.
Lovely shot Barbara
Very nice portrait
Barbara, Love it really nice portrait - very intent and focused look to it - and thats what they are good at - took me back a few years to late 80's when I was in the Falklands and got a shot of one on Kodacrome 64 - must dig out those slide !
Beautiful Barbara...those details in the feathers and the concentration of its gaze is simply remarkable. I was about to comment that it must have been snooty to you thinking "Here is that bird nerd again! I will look annoyed for her!"
Great capture Barbara, well done.
We only find these in zoos or wildlife parks here.
Oddly, I personally don't particularly feel the heron family does look that 'angry' or 'concentrating', perhaps because I have shot our variety a fair bit, I'm just used to the look - to me they always look like this - they have expressionless faces (in my opinion).
However, I have always felt (as a species) that the Bald Eagle looks 'cross' or 'angry' - perhaps I need to shoot them more to 'get over it'
