Louis Latour is a French winery. I have bought various wines made by Louis Latour over the years and have found that his name on a bottle indicates consistent, reliable quality. So, I decided to showcase his name in the photo shown below.
This wine, which is a Montagny premier cru chardonnay from the vineyard named La Grande Roche, is always in my household. That's because it's relatively inexpensive, especially for a premier cru made in Burgundy. (Premier cru wines from Montagny are never as expensive as premier cru wines from other more famous wine regions in Burgundy.) This wine comes quite close to the quality of a Meursault premier cru at half the price.
Considering that I like this wine so much, I thought it would be fun to add a photo or two of it to my portfolio. The next one, if it turns out as I hope, will be very different. Hence the title in the thread indicating that this photo is "Take 1." I am crossing my fingers that there will be a "Take 2."
Setup
A small continuous-light lamp with a diffusion sock attached to knock down the brightness is above and to the right front of the bottle. An opaque white flag controls the light that falls on the bottle. The background is black felt. A white reflector behind and larger than the background is reflecting the bright tones that define the edges of the bottle. The camera and background, not the bottle, are tilted.

Even though the intent of the manufacturer is probably that they are perceived to be smooth, I enjoy the slight texture when viewing a subject up close such as in this image.
