Thanks Raymond. I was pleased as I was about 40 rows up in the stands of a very large stadium and the lighting was horrible.

Looks like your shot turned out pretty well with a difficult subject, and what a wild little nag that appears to be! What were the settings SS, ISO, and aperture?

Four hooves off the ground. That's great timing Barbara. The conditions were difficult but very often getting the shot is what is important although I suspect that this will respond to some gentle noise reduction and selective sharpening.

Thanks John! I think I introduced more noise during PP The rodeo will be here for another week and am contemplating going again and trying to get down closer to the action and see if perhaps I can improve the shot. Now that I know I can take my camera into the venue and where the action will take place I think I can do better, or at least will try

Aww...you will survive Barbara...just zoom in from where you are. I used to go to rodeos in Wyoming each year for several years because I enjoyed them, but getting nearer to action you miss some shots because of your location. I would rather be up where the dust doesn't do much damage to my gear (and nose..) I love the raw smell of horses in action...as Aussies always say : she'll be right, mate!

Keep em coming Barbara...it is another venue for you to explore and expand as you go. What a long and short journey where you were when you first uploaded your bird images...I am envious at how good you have become since then .. You should read Matt's account of his journey...
