Spirit of the sky
This one is a bit different, I took this in camera, pushed the exposure to extreme to get a picture that was a feel of a gull in flight rather than simply a portrait of a gull flying. I guess this will be a love / hate picture. It works for me as to what I wanted and how I wanted to do it - in camera with bare minimum pp, a crop and that was pretty much it. Just thought I would put it up here to see what you think of it.

Re: Spirit of the sky
Fabulous gull but the mood is seriously destroyed by the watermark. But then I have a thing about watermarks.

Thanks Brian, appreciated.
Ah, well my image on my screen does not have the watermark, I only put it on for the web image

Re: Spirit of the sky
Mark, I like it but wish it had a little more on the right, not much, just the outline of a wing perhaps. Interesting technique that I think has merit. It looks very water coloresque.

Re: Spirit of the sky
I like it Mark. I wonder how it would look in black and white?

Re: Spirit of the sky
My first thoughts were that the wing tip needs to be connected to the body, as Barbara also mentioned.
The second edits works fine for me. Slightly prefer the little bit of colour version.

Re: Spirit of the sky
Thanks Izzie, the more I look at it the more you guys are right - it needed that bit more definition than the first version

Re: Spirit of the sky
I like the 2nd color version and if the BW version (thank you for putting that one up BTW) had as much pop they would both be winners in my books!

Re: Spirit of the sky
Mark I like the color edit very much! Just enough to give the illusion. Very nice!
