The kangaroo is hilarious. Smart enough to sit in the shade. The lion is awesome shot from a nice low angle. Details lost in the highlights on the kookaburra. If you were shooting auto without compensating the dark BG likely caused the camera to over expose the highlights. A nice outing with your new lens. The roo is the only shot that is evidently in a zoo. Well done.

Dan, thank you for looking and comment, I was not shooting auto, but in aperture mode, but will keep in mind next time around to compensate for a dark background anyway........

Griddi...all shots and poses are really good...but on all of them, apart from the Kookaburra, there seems to be a prevalent blue-ish undertone even with the lion. The roo has that purple-ish colour where the shades are hitting him. Maybe colour correction will work here? Or hue and saturation? Just thinking out loud...no offense meant. Or it must be my screen...

Hi Izzie.......I think you are right, although I have not in anyway changed my in camera settings, regarding saturation etc....but what I have done in PP in Lightroom trying out custom white balance, and I think I hit it off not to well......go better back to automatic WB in future........

Izzie, thank you for looking, and pointing out, I am glad you did .........

    My greetings to you,

A nice series with your new lens. My zoo also has mesh fences and they are very tough to focus through in photos. You did an outstanding job on these. I agree about the blue cast. It's not great, but it is there. The lion's lower face is down in the grass, but you nailed the eyes. It's my favorite.

Nice series, the greenery in the first and last looks a bit odd though.

Griddi - I like #1, it is a great pose by the Kangaroo, clarity looks very good on this image. I have to say my favorite is of the lion in the end, and I think the vantage point is really nice.

I agree with others, the colors seem just a touch off....not much, maybe a bit blue as Izzie had indicated. Either way great effort on the first outing with the lens.

    Donna....thank you.......

I have n the meantime the blue cast a bit corrected, I think it was due to a wrong WB, as I used instead in Lightroom as usually WB, this time a custom WB......which was not so good..........

John , thank you for looking and comment....about the greenery......may be due it is Australian greenery, wrong WB, or to much saturation.......

Hi Erik........yes, we have clever Kangaroos here, they know, when it is to hot, that sitting under a tree is a good place

Thank you for taking the time out to look and comment, next time I will watch the saturation a bit more, or the WB........
