    North Florida Panhandle

Our beaches here have very little in the sand, the sand is like sugar, not even a pebble so I usually have to go to the seashell store and fight little old ladies in tennis shoes for the good shells. Such was the case here. I found the perfect sand dollar, got the shot and the wave got my shell..... Such is life....

WOW! Just a beautiful shot with the merging of the multiple colors in the sky and the reflections on the water. I love the story on the sand dollar. Your position looking up the beach is perfect!

Love the angle and a well composed pic with terrific color processing.

awsome colours in the sky and love the softness of the sea, a great shot - ' I found the perfect sand dollar,' and there was me thinking 'thats a posh frisbee'

Lovely shot, not really a fan of the round thing though.

Hi, Kelvin. We spent a couple of days in Destin two weeks ago. Lovely bit of the world there. The biggest sand dollars I've ever seen. And thick. Regarding the photo, IMO it is a bit dark overall. Particularly near the bottom around the dollar. Also think a bit could be cropped from the top without losing anything and that would offset the lovely horizon a bit. Nicely done.

Absolutely gorgeous! Well done! Any changes would be the minor details that are highly subjective.

It has been decades since I have seen a sand dollar but I never say any that were nearly that large.

We liked the area enough that I'm sure we'll be back. My wife has a nephew who lives there also and we missed seeing him this last trip. Plus I plan to soon have a LOT more time on my hands for kicking sand down a beach. By the way what you said is so true. The sand there is the most pleasant texture of any beach I've been to including east, gulf, and west coasts of USA, HI, OZ, NZ, USVI, Bahamas, and the Med. Really extraordinary. Then again our toes were nearly frozen so maybe I'm wrong

Did you see the pelicans I shot on the Eglin beach in this thread?
