A waterfall in Wales
Finally got around to reviewing the shots I took last year while doing the 4 waterfall walk, 4 very different falls, this is the 3rd or 4th depending on how you count them as in reality I counted 5 but hey its a bonus, not being short changed but getting more for your walk ![Smile](https://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/forums/images/smilies2/smile.png)

Re: A waterfall in Wales
nice mist from the water fall and I like the shutter speed you used to give the soft flow in the water movement. At first I thought a little on the dark side and maybe a little more color on the greenery, but I believe this is a great capture.

Re: A waterfall in Wales
What a lovely little stream. The type of place where I can spend many happy hours. And visit repeatedly given the opportunity. Nicely composed. I like the bit of BG visible above the upper fall showing that there is more to see beyond. I'm a fan of long shutters and this choice works well IMO. Beyond that I'm not on a decent monitor so won't comment further on techs. Nicely done.

Re: A waterfall in Wales
Thanks John
Cheers Dan, it was a very grey overcast day so had to push this one about a bit more than I would normally want to or have the real skill to do

Re: A waterfall in Wales
Very well done, Mark. You really brought out the atmosphere of the scene, not just the objects in the scene.
Consider bringing out the grey tones in the upper waterfall to introduce more detail; it's a bit bland in the current version.

Re: A waterfall in Wales
Thanks Mike, hmm, one to play with and will have to see what I can do - not an area I tend to do much in so will be a learning thing

Mark, nice captures... It's a few years since I've been there but it looks like the Pontneddfechan walk?

Re: A waterfall in Wales
Nice shots Mark, I prefer the second one as the water has a bit more detail.
These are just up the road from me

Re: A waterfall in Wales
I am with Matt...I prefer the second one better. Not a fan of slow shutter speed in water but this one looks great.

Re: A waterfall in Wales
Mark,
I mentioned yesterday that I like the moody atmosphere that you preserved so well. Now that you have added the second image and the thread has received more attention, I'd like to suggest that you attend to the histogram in both images. If you raise the black point in the first one, lower the white point in the second and perhaps add a very, very slight S-curve to both of them, you'll get more pop without losing the dreamy feel.

Re: A waterfall in Wales
Lovely images with the 2nd being especially beautiful to me for the wide view of the gorgeous falls, the detail in the falls and also the beautiful soft dreamy colours/tones.
