Once again, everything absolutely right.
Barbara...those are great images...keep them coming!
Very nice, Barbara. I really like the vertical dive pose.
Barbara, these are outstanding. I like the first two for position on the birds. A split second later on no.3 with a bit more splash would be interesting. Content and techs on these are awesome. You keep upping your game with the pelicans. In the next few days as they fill out in breeding colors I have high expectations.
My compliments as well, Barbara. A superb set of wildlife images. Only thing I wondered about was cropping even tighter?
Lovely series. Well captured, especially we have contact.
You are on a roll, Barbara, with your awesome pelican shots. Please keep on posting your efforts because they are just outstanding!!!! I love your timing in the third shot.
Indeed, outstanding with exceptional timing. My favourite is the first for the beautiful display of the wings.
Thank you! I could not be doing it if it were not for all of you here helping me to get better. Honestly when I first started my feelings were a little hurt. I had thought my work was good but now realize I had and continue to have so much to learn! steadily I am learning and really enjoying the process!
While taking photos in Galveston I met a lady shrimper. I asked if she would consider taking me out on one of her shrimping trips to take photos. She agreed to take me so I am super excited about that. When they come in she has no less than 20 pelicans sitting on the boat and another 20 following it, not to mention egrets and herons. Plan on going after Spring Break and can not wait!
Christina, Thank you! I love their feathers and the texture that they give a picture! The stars aligned yesterday as I had been trying to catch this for some time. They always seem to turn right before they dive so I kept on missing the shot.
Thank you John!
Great set Barbara, they get better each time.
As you seem to have a lot of opportunity to shoot these guys at speed how about a challenge and try 'panning' with a lower shutter speed with the aim to get a blurred background I have no clue how feasible it is but may be fun to have a go.
