    Peach colored rose...

...taken with my shopgoodwill.com rescued Canon ELPH SD1000 ($6.95).

    Peach colored rose...

For a camera that didn't work when I received it, I think it's doing an admirable job now.

C&C welcome, but, please, consider the source (as well as the photographer ).

Alan, I love the color and for the camera involved it has nice detail.

    Thank you Barbara.
This was shot in the 'macro' mode, which, when I used it for the first time, really surprised me.

Oh! it's a powershot...OK...good for you for fixing it to your liking...and working it well too. I love the rose and peach is one of my favourite colour. You've captured it well here. In fact I have a lot of those from my trip, if I can find them in my hard drive somewhere... (I am partial to the cropped petal...)

    Re: Peach colored rose...

I just did a quick search on your camera. There is apparently nothing in the camera that automatically centers the shot or makes it impossible to back up just a bit to get the entire rose into the shot.

The colours on the other hand are true to life and have lots of subtlety. My analysis is that you're right... the camera is working well.

I have found that the more beautiful the Rose is, the harder it is to capture that beauty. I have gotten to the point where I take a lot longer to find the right angle than I ever believed I would. I have found Roses are just really hard to find the right shot because they are so beautiful.

All in all 10 out of 10 for the camera and 7.5 for the framing?

Its a nice shot, lovely subtle colour, shame about the cropped petal though.

    Re: Peach colored rose...

Thank you all for the comments. The cropping was more to keep other flowers out of the picture than a purposeful cutoff of the petals.
If it had been possible, I would have liked to have framed it like this shot.

Now this is most beautiful...almost perfect rose specimen...it will be nice if you can clone out the two little dwight in the petals.
