    Is this the start of the food photography theme? Nice composition James, the decoration on the plate is a bit fuzzy, not sure if you did this on purpose to not distract from the subject. I would try it again with fewer fruit wedges. I won't comment on the topping until you tell me what it is, but the juice flowing down the side has a more appealing hue than what is shown on top. What type of lighting did you use?

    I like the balance of colour and tone and don't mind the softness of the pattern on the plate. But, like Shadowman, I think there are too many wedges on the plate. I think the wedges laid out in a more organised pattern/shape would have helped the image. There's a certain formality to the composition, that is not reflected in the arrangement of the wedges.

    ps - and tell Grant he only gets the recipe if he says nice things about your photograph!!

    The color is at its soft side. But other than that, you making me crave for same mango and bagoong!

    the dipping is called bagoong.. its a fermanted shrimp paste..
    i use only 1 580exII off cam and ambient light..
