    Abstracts

Doesn't it figure that I finally get a chance to get out and do some photography and it is pouring rain. I played around inside today and attempted to come up with an abstract. I am interested to see what you folks think of them, good or bad. Do they work? Do you find the B&W version appealing or...? etc.

    1. This is the original that I started with. Not a good image but it was taken with the idea of changing it around.

    2. I played with the distort filters in PS and came up with this.

    3. Tried a B&W conversion using NIK and this is how it looked.

    Re: Abstracts

I like abstracts, both of these are good.

In future though Rita can you not post the original until I've had a chance to try and guess how you done it

    +1

These should be viewed at max size in Lytebox to fully appreciate them.

I like both of them the same too, Rita. Things you do when it is wet outside, huh? I'd probably do a macro of my dog's fur for lack of nothing to photograph... I go crazy inside the house.

The B&W makes me think of a vinyl record warped by exposure to way too much sun. I like it. I don't have PS but if it has edge detect filters you can have a lot of fun playing with them in a shot like this.

Nothing like a walk on the wild side.

Thanks Izzie. Yes, I go stir crazy being inside too.

Brian, thanks for the feedback. You may just have given me another idea here.

    Re: Abstracts

I also agree that both are good abstracts. Playing in Photoshop when you can't go outside really brings out our creative side. Very creative work, Rita. If these were mine, I would probably file these away to use as textures on a photo that needed more help. Sometimes, mine need a lot of help!
