    Biznaga

This cactus is one of the biznaga, sometimes called a horse crippler, grows along my pasture fence--not where our horses can get near. It took about three months to get this shot. As the plant would begin to bloom after a rain, insects would eat the buds, but finally got to photograph the mature bloom. C&C please.

What else beautiful, delicate bloom. A tighter square crop may be nice. Also a bit warmer?

Well worth the wait for this shot, Dean. I like that it shows both an opening bloom and one that is fully open. Nice!

Focus is good and a potentially tricky exposure has been handled well; but I find the mesh or whatever it is on the left side to be slightly distracting. Maybe a mix of crop and clone could remove it?

Lovely shot Dean... Brought back memories for me as we had these cactus at my childhood home.

Nicely captured, normally another large red element within a photo such as this would distract from the subject, however the red within the flower is much more vibrant; so the berries actually compliment and help move my eyes around the composition.

Beautiful shot and nice composition but the wires at the side distracts a bit...+1 to Geoff's comment and also of John above...the berries does not distracts me much as it is part of the composition to show the now, before and after...
