    Farmhouse

One of my winter projects is culling through my files and reworking some older images. Rather than molder unseen on the hard drive I decided to post some.

An old house in the middle of a harvested field. This place is about an hour away which is unfortunate given my current work/on call schedule. Hopefully it remain standing for a few more years until I can get back there. Would like to shot it with some clouds in the sky.

I adore the 1st for the beautiful detail and tones in the barn, and the 2nd for the same reasons bit also for the sheer beauty of the scene at hand.

Trevor -- it is still winter in Canada? Strange but somewhere out there it is already Springtime or haven't you heard? Oh well...

I like #1 for the textures and overall appearance and #1 for the overview of the place...no complains here...both good shots...

Hi Trevor: These are lovely images. There is something so haunting about old farmhouses. Do you ever do any night shots of your barns? A local photographer had taken some photos of my neighbours old barn at night with some sort of light source within the building which really made it glow. Very haunting and eerie.

Beautiful captures indeed. I like the upclose frame with all it's textures and rich hues but I love the solitary feel of the "far away" frame. Really beautiful colors and composition. Nice work!

Spring is a good four weeks away, end of April at least. At least it seems an attainable goal now.

    Re: Farmhouse

    I like both of these.
When I look at them I think, what must it have been like when it was new, you can really see a long ways out there without seeing any signs of humanity. When it was new it must have been the only structure around for miles.

Nice work, thanks for sharing. I hope it's still standing when you return for more shots.

Never thought of this, the problem where I live is that by the time the nights are warn enough for me to be comfortable outside in the dark, the nights are short. Already it is only truly dark after 9 pm.

But it is an interesting concept.

I hope it is as well. These structures standing alone in fields are fantastic when the sky has dramatic clouds. I hope to get back there.

As for the isolation. Ironically when these was built there were many more houses, probably one every mile or so. Now the farms are huge and most of the original homesteads are torn down to make it more efficient for the large machinery.
