The Stream, The Waterfall and The View

I took these shots recently at a place called Fitzroy Falls in the mountains south of Sydney. I was particularly impressed with the view of the mountains from the falls viewing platform and hope I've captured the atmosphere here. This shot is a two shot stitched pano. Comments welcome.

Pls click on images to enlarge.

I particularly enjoy the view shot. Not much difference from when I was there 5 months ago. A great area to visit.

There is a rumor that Greg is harmless. Anyway I understand he spends most of his time on the coast gazing out to sea via a viewfinder rather than venturing into the highlands.

    Good shots Ellis
I especially like the breathtaking middle one: I feel like following the water falling down ; a minor suggestion: to crop a tiny bit from the right, as to "loose" the very bright part bottom right.

OK Ellis... -- here's my take here:
#1 -- It makes me like to walk this water -- it is so clear...and will be nice to do such during summer when the heat index is up the 35's or 40°C over there...nice shot...
#2 -- This is a perfect shot! I've never known myself to be crazy looking down to scroll this image but I did and as I did, it was very nice to just follow through...it feels like parachuting in front of it and not seeing anything unless you are either up there or down below the falls where the height is just overwhelming...kinda mixed feelings but my favourite shot between the three of them...
#3 -- Hey! I'm in the mood this morning...hehehehe...nice view from where you are...don't you wish you can explore the nooks and crannies of the whole place without any gargantuan mosquitoes taking turns to suck your blood dry?

Good set Dave, I especially like 3 & 4 that give that eerie feeling of being high up and near an edge.

Now that's a real waterfall Dave. Nice shots. I particularly like the first one.

Thanks Erwin, that's a good idea to crop as you suggest.

OK cheeky miss Izzie, thanks for your comments. I wouldn't go in that water in #1 if I were you, it's only about 10m from the edge of the cliff in #2 !

Not sure what you're in the mood for but yes it would be nice to explore that area. There is a walking track but I don't think it goes far.

    Glad you like the shots

Grahame and John, many thanks for your comments. John I was actually quite surprised at how this waterfall is, I think it's about 100m or 300 ft.

Just out of curiosity I reviewed my shots from the same location. Below is a shot taken from very near where you probably took #3 from. I prefer yours as the perspective is better by not bothering trying to include the waterfall by using a wide angle lens. You must be stronger willed than me .....

The Stream, The Waterfall and The View

I wonder how many others have photographs from the same spot (ignoring the ones taken with phones)

That's interesting LPaul. My shot was stitched from two shots but initially I did try to stitch a third shot of the waterfall in. But i messed up the captures completely and the stitching simply could not be done !

Yes I find stitching often does not cope very well if there is too much variation in the plane distances between frames. Hence my using a 15 mm lens on a full-frame camera. I had a tripod with me but it was too hot to be anything other than lazy.

Take a group of photographers to the same spot and they will all come up with different shots.

You also must have become dizzy up on that edge. There were only three images when you posted.
