OK now I get it , this is much better all around , , I actually like the lights falling on the plant albeit some might suggest a fill flash to even out the lighting.

I think you can get away with the light angle on the subject but those bright background areas need toning down a fraction.

I was undecided about the brightness. Part of me agreed with you. Part of me saw it as a natural line from top left to bottom right that bracketed the flower. But it is certainly borderline too much.
