Sometimes natural light is best....
Get rid of all those modifiers and strobes.... sometimes you just see a moment. This was taken whilst doing a product shoot with Becky, we had full studio lights and modifiers ..... but then you turn around and see the MUA at work, the concentration on her face and the light from the overcast day outside seemed just right. This was effectively a 'behind the scenes snapshot'

Nothing wrong with embracing natural light. Nice capture.

Dave - I totally agree with you that natural light can be absolutely wonderful to work with.
If it only weren't so unreliable. You have to be in the right place at the right time and hope that decent lighting happens to show up at the time and place you need it. "Golden hour" is just as good for portraits as it is for landscapes, and just as in landscape photography "conditions may vary".
Artificial light is available when you need it, but as I found out earlier this week, a defective synch cord can screw things up just as much as a heavily overcast day...

I noticed that a bit of judicious sharpening helped sharpen the eyes of the person to who makeup was being applied...
