If it's out there and you need it and it's not too expensive to tryout, why not.

I quick note repeating myself regarding compatibility While the Tele-converter reduces the light by x1.4 or x2 stops the Tele Adaptor [ my experience is with Raynox 2020 and Olympus TCON x1.7 [ not made now I believe] And several cheapies I wasted money on originally] if it matches the camera lens only reduces by 1/3 stop BUT if as I found when adding the TCON to my 14-140 Lumix it reduces the already slow f/5.8 back to around f/10 .. the silver lining of course is the Contrast Detection focusing works quickly as ever where I gather Phase Detection could have problems at that small aperture. I no longer have a camera with PD so I cannot check.
My empiracle opinion is that the rear element of the adaptor needs to be bigger that the front element of the camera lens as is the case with my bridge cameras to avoid undue light loss.
I believe the older 2020 is the 2025 without a lens thread I worked around THAT problem when I found at matching drain pipe connector at a plumbing wholesalers
It vignettes very slightly but improves IQ no end .... photo also shows the collar I made to mount on tripod as a balanced rig. With x12 zoom the Raynox gives me 950mm reach which is worhwhile. The only drawback is that the rig vignettes badly the moment one zooms back whereas the TCON only starts around x7 on the zoom .... there is nothing as bad as being 'too close' to the subject as I found the first time I used the rig
Sorry to hog this thread but I just looked at the G15 at dpreview and it looks as if the lens trombones unlike my Panasonic FZ50 where the zoom doesn't lengthen the lens and I would be adverse to putting anything heavier than a filter or CU lens on such a lens ... perhaps I am a 'fraidy cat' BUT! ....
Sorry to be out of touch for a bit, been away, but thanks everyone for your input and shared experiences, it has been helpful!
