    Canon wireless remote shutters

I've purchased three of them to use with my 1Ds3...none seem to fire the shutter.
The latest is this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...e_Shutter.html
In all cases, the lights on the units indicate power to the units
I shoot totally in manual mode, mostly using a 180 macro lens.

I'm beginning to think that the problem lies with the three-pin connection in the camera...is it probable?
Or might the problem be someplace else...where?

I have the same brand by Vello and also my intervalometer is a Vello too. They are easy to use, just that I use it on my Nikons. Oh by the way, when you are not using them, remove the battery. The position of the buttons on the camera unit makes it hard to store it together with the others especially in your accessories bag. Take it from experience -- mine -- when I have to pack a whole slew of batteries just to replace the spent ones after getting to my shooting place. Check your batteries -- it might be that and not your system.

Are you sure transmitter & receiver are on the same frequency/channel?

    This particular model is self-configuring.

I have an infrared wireless shutter trip device for my Canon 7D. The camera needs to be on bulb "B" to use this release...

I'm sorry guys...I got it to work properly by fiddling with and crossing the prongs to get them to
work properly, once I did that...it works like gangbusters. Musta had dirty prongs or something.
