Nice capture of the tranquil moment breakup.
Nice capture Dave. Mind you having lived on the river roughly opposite the Uni I can tell you the shouts of the coaches in the tinnies sure does break the morning peace. It's amazing how far the sound carries.
Your caption on the last shot should have been ... "until this jerk came along..." Dan! I would have been annoyed if I were one of the rowers...Good shot...I like the shiny water in #2. It is my favourite...although the unthinking action of #3 is annoying, I like that you caught the action...
Thanks for your comments John, Graham amd Izzie.
Yes Graham I've heard that is a problem. These shots were taken at the Uni.
Izzie I don't have a problem with jet skis, but there is a time and place. This was 8AM on a Sunday morning ! I don't think the rowers were too worried though.
Dave
Nice set Dave, there is always one
Thanks David.
Dave
Good set Dave, it certainly looks a pleasant morning for playing around on the river, well at least with a camera
Nice shot Dave and great capture when Jet Ski came into photo.
I would have liked to see some closeups or filling the fame a bit more in this series. I think there is some stories in the faces of the rowers...both when they are rowing and when the jet ski come through.
Well done.
Thanks Grahame and Eric. Yes closeups would have good but I wasn't quick enough.
Dave
Nice shots, especially the last one
Pretty shots - remind me of my days on the river doing this in college - shortly after college was invented. The jet ski shot tells a good story - those who ride them often seem oblivious to their intrusiveness (or they revel in it?).
Thanks Binnur, Mark and Izzie. I'll stay out of the jet ski user debate, it could get heated !
Dave
I think the jet ski adds a good compositional contrast to the shot: traditional v modern.
