I concur! I was very fortunate.

A friend of mine once told me that there is a First Nations legend here in Canada that says if you catch a Northern Flicker and release it unharmed you will have good luck forever. Akin to the Leprechaun fable in your parts. I contend that a Flicker might be harder to catch than a Leprechaun

'Tis said that a Leprechaun is easier to catch after a few pints of Guinness. Doubt that is true of a flicker

I can't add to anything already said about the excellence of these shots. They are just gorgeous.

Absolutely fabulous shots. You're braver than me though, I wouldn't take my DSLR out on my kayak for fear of getting it very wet. Mind you my 'yak is a sit on not a sit in but even so.....
Unless of course you have a waterproof housing?

That's the rub...I insure my gear but I cannot get coverage for what they call 'waterborn' incidents. Translated to our language means anything transported by water.

With a lens that size, I would have out riggers on that oversize boot, ahhh Kayak. its all been said what could I possibly add? I know, a rudder to the kayak. I built a frame and canvas version very long ago, it had a rudder that was foot operated with a left and right foot pedal. It had running rigging like an aeroplane. It may prove handy with your hands full of kit, you could fine position yourself with the rudder hands free. Wonderful shots, they give me lens envy.
