Breaking rule of odds : Even

Odd number of subjects looks good in the frame in general but just trying to break some guidelines for odds by having even number of elements in the image.

Kindly share your views for the below images, which is more suitable for this concept.

To me the first two figures are so close that they are one figure while the second is two footprints which demonstrate why it is good to have odds. The front figure also is so dominant to make the rear figure a supporting character to front's oneness

The rule of odds is more or less satisfied with even when one item is dominant. The main concern with even is when they have equal dominance it can lead to a static composition or the eye alternating between two equal points of interest. Dominance of one over another in even can be due to size, brightness, contrast, position or colour.

I think the first image works because it is more than just a subject of two figures, it's a grouping of elements which consist of lines, shapes, and patterns. The second image I like because it tells a story, and in addition the two prints are unequal in size and direction.
