Downrigger: Ahhhhhhh. Now I see that I misunderstood your first post just a tad. Your perception of the foreground area might be the result of some perspective distortion. I don't remember if my 35mm lens that I used was tilted downward just a bit. If it was, that would have created the distortion you're seeing. Even if that's the case, I probably wouldn't change it because if anything it adds to the nearly surrealistic effect. You're correct that the neck and shoulders of the bottle appear less translucent. That's because there are the front and rear parts of that piece creating two layers the back light was penetrating, as opposed to all of the other pieces that were made up only of one layer of glass to penetrate.
