Very nice indeed! I love the colors. I would maybe crop off the top darker blurred part of the image; other than that, I can't think of a thing that would improve an already great catch!

Nice catch. I would try and lighten the eye just a bit to make it stand out a little more.

+1 to Barbara's comment. My preference is for just a little crop from the left and the top. Not too much. Move the image around in lytebox then you will see what I mean...a large crop will lose the essence of the shot. I particularly like the curvature of his horns here (the first thing I noticed btw...)

Although rear end forwards, he is looking to the right with full side view of his head in good focus so this angle still works for me.

Maybe you could try a crop from the top to remove that darker background band and I suppose a similar amount from the sides; mostly the left side.

    Mathew,

I like this shot but also think that a bit of PP might result in a more attractive image.

just chilling in the afternoon sun

I obviously cropped the image at the top and at image left. However, additionally, I added quite a bit of structure (50%) using NIK Viveza as well as some (20%) contrast using that same program...

However, I don't know what caused the line in the grass above the antelope's muzzle. However, that line is in the original image and it is just more apparent with the extra contrast and structure...

I tried to deemphasize the line using the line using the clone tool at 50%. That seemed to work.

If I took more time, I think it would have worked better.

Cropping would help take subject out of dead center.

yea cropping is good... I wasn't sure if leaving that part of the background added more depth and more context to the picture but i can see how the animal gets 'lost' in the field ( actually just a vacant lot in the neighborhood across the street ) Thanks for the feed back. I'm learning so much from these forums

Hmm...although I like Richard's PP, from comparison (clicking arrows back and forth at lytebox) I like the original because it is softer. Just my opinion...
