Try the blades of a helicopter or plane propellers, really fun exercise.

Matthew -- this is exactly what I shoot when my camera is here upstairs in my den...good exercise...then I graduated to airplanes and propellers... No exif to know how fast your SS is...yesterday against the wind I configured my camera to 1/1250 for my flower shots, (like you with this fan, flowers are out of my league but I love them.) The ones below that speed were blurred.

The process you are using to send to the web is stripping off the useful data that folk here like to see .... I believe it is the Adobe "save for the web' option ... that is a nice shot of chilling in the sun

You did well Matthew. Now try doing it with something like a helicopter taking off where the blade speed is changing, that's fun

My weather report for Jackson Hole says 22° right now! Why is your fan on???

Nice job freezing the blades and cool looking chrome fan too.

You're like my hubby...I can't sleep with the noise of the fan and the wind blowing the hair in my face tickles so I wait for him to sleep so I can shut it off so I can sleep... good fan you have there...it is not plastic.

I understand...we have about two or three of those big ones at our hangar and one of them has a stand. Use it in summer when the hangar door is opened.

i had the suggestion to center the fan a bit... a different day and different light ... couldn't get the same effect with the fan blade
