Wow, Barbara. These are awesome. I like the first one for the wing positions and love the way you composed them. The second looks slightly better exposed (i.e. a little brighter) but I didn't compare histograms so it may just be my eyes. In any case, you might play around with lighting a bit to bring out the beautiful colors on those heads.
Your time in the field is paying off. Both with opportunities and rapidly improving skills. Nicely done.

Not sure how Canon functions but you may want to check if the camera constantly adjusts exposure even when shooting a burst. If so it is possible to get variability from one frame to the next. Not the case here(I checked in EXIF viewer) and not likely with that sort of background but something to be aware of. If the BG is changing significantly as the subject moves it could be an issue.
It's a big issue for me sometimes. Especially when I've been shooting bracketed landscapes and forget to turn off bracketing then shoot a burst at a critter
