Excellent set David. My only thought is that the OOF area at the base of each is a bit distracting. Cropping it, if only partly, make these easier on the eye for me.

+1 to John. Those shots are not as close-up as your usual ones David. Did you use a different lens?

These miniature armadillos are so often overlooked amongst more colourful species.

Apparently there are 30 species in the UK but I know little about them. Porcellio scaber and Oniscus asellus are probably the most common here.

John makes a worthwhile point about a slight crop of the foreground, otherwise excellent shots.

Hi Binnur, same lens, these are baby Woodlouse and do look a tad small in the frame, will have a look in the morning and crop them if needed

Thanks Geoff, I had a brief look earlier on and seemingly there are over 5000 different species of these throughout the world

I have seen some of these at one stage or the other...these shots are all good apart from 1 and 3 with those yucky foreground. My favourite is #2...suppose to be #3 because it is the nearest so maybe you can clone that blur foreground to make it perfect (for me at least...)

Nifty. I like the third best, with the little mosslets.

These are sooo Cool! I really should get to know these lesser-sized critters better so that I don't need to see big wildlife to be happy. What lens do you use to get these guys magnified to a viewable size?

    Re: Woodlouse

All joking aside, as these are macro images the D.O.F is very limited, and I'm not a great fan of cropping unless its necessary, but here they are all having been cropped

    Re: Woodlouse

Like those a lot better David and I agree with Binnur, no.2 is now a really good image. I hadn't noticed the eye in the original but it now has become more noticeable.
