Heaven looking down... C&C welcomed

Took a walk into a field (it is a hill) this evening to get a shot of something I have been eyeing. That didn't work out, but as I was leaving I spotted this. I felt like the heavens were looking down upon me... and I smiled.

I did try it without the snow at the very bottom; however, I preferred it in the image.

So many sunset photos but this one is also good...maybe you are meant to see that and take a shot of instead of what you intended at the time...

I think a crop from the bottom might work, Kim, but you have to crop enough and reduce the dark area by around half. Possibly then try reducing the top and going to 5 x 4 ratio to prevent the sky from appearing 'top heavy'?

The sky is what got me Geoff; I would have preferred to have been able to put a better composition together, but there wasn't much to work with in the field ;-) They sky had special meaning to me, so that's why I left all of it (I love the texture on the top left which the revision removes). Here's a revised version that incorporates your suggestions...

Kim, the first image is lovely! I really like the rays thru the clouds, and the intense glow on the horizon. Very beautiful!
