    Nicely captured and presented.

I like the spotlight on top of this cookie...put this one on the interview table. It might spill the beans on how you did it... Nice big yuummmmm...It'll take me days to eat this one by myself.

Just your standard scone recipe with dates and raisins.

As for how I got the shot that was improvisation.

On our one kitchen table chair I put on 2 cushions and placed the chair against the glass wall to get the natural light coming in from 2 sides. camera on tripod, combine telephoto and macro, set it a little dark and take the shot. Take 5 shots at different brightness levels and pick my favourite.

Had my usual fun with pp including embossing, depth merging, one added layer for painting out the background a few other tweaks and that's all there was to it.

The toughest part was having the patience to set up and take the shot before starting in to eat!

For once we disagree. It needed to be eaten to be appreciated. But you are right it does look better bigger. Which is a good thing because in Gimp I have yet to figure out how to shrink the shot. In Picasa you just pick your export size.

But this morning after reading your post I thought I would give it another shot. What they don't include in the directions is the need to crop the shot after shrinking. Now it works! Much thanks.

If I was a poet I could wax poetic about the delicate sweetness of the half dried dates permeating the still warm scones not 10 minutes out of the oven. But I'm not.
