    Another Boardwalk

I was looking at this one when Neville put up his picture - spooky - Boardwalk through the Reeds

he kindly asked that I still put mine up

The Boardwalk here is getting on a bit and has had a lot of traffic, I wanted it without people as more of an abstract - not sure it works but I like it

    Another Boardwalk

    C & C welcome as always

Nice effort, not so much an abstract with this format, a nice combination of elements. Perhaps you can get an abstract effect if rotated clockwise, I can see the illusion of a hand reaching out, but the fact that I can see something perhaps suggest that an abstract can be imagined as shown.

I'm really glad you put this up Mark. The exclusion of all except the two main elements create that magical moment between realism and abstract. Very nicely composed and executed (and, for me, best in its original orientation).
It gives me food for thought next time I encounter this type of landscape.

Thanks Neville, much appreciated, the 2nd image was a bit of fun to make it more abstract and create a 'take 2' moment, in a seperate thread it would take a few seconds for people to work out what it was.

I love the first one, Mark...Neville spurred you on...his image is great and mysterious and yours is equally so. I am always perplexed by this kind of images and wonder what lies at the end of each path. Good job.

The first one works for me too Mark, well seen.

It might be worth trying to emphasise the boardwalk a little more with some localised structure, contrast and saturation. I'm not sure.
