    Solitude - C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

In this image i wanted to show more of the clouds and trees under that environment.

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops and processing.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended)

I like the concept of this shot and think the composition works well, but there is not enough detail in the clouds to quiet pull it off for me

Thanks a lot for your kind review and suggestion. I have deliberately kept less details in the cloud thinking that they can take away attention from the trees. I may be wrong I have updated the description with the image with more details in the cloud

I agree with the above , the conceptual aspect is well intended , how ever the actual subject matter seems to be lacking in definition/ contrast and more details to draw the attention on the viewer.

I like the 2nd one with more detail in the clouds. The detail in the hillside is a hidden beauty that really adds to this image!

Raj a great image, I hope you do not mind as I adjusted your image as it is easier to show than to write to explain. Now Donald is the King of the Square Format, but I do not think it works well for this image. There is great detail in the sky and also some very nice textures on that hill, a problem was the middle that flat nothing area it was too over powering to my thinking. So I added some to the hill, and lighten it to drag me up to the top then cropped it more vertical. If the trees had been larger than the more square crop may have worked. These are only suggestions and thoughts as to how I would have viewed the image while shooting and presenting it for display.

    Cheers: Allan

PS after I posted I put a curves on the image and reset the black to output 18 in Photoshop and it I will say it now has a little more crispness (sharpness) to it.

Hi Raj, I like your second edit. IMO the image would look better if you brighten the ground and also add some contrast to it selectively

I too prefer the second with more contrast in the sky, Raj. As you experiment with this, I might consider going to straight black silhouette for the hillside as you have done with the trees. The subdued and somewhat concealed details of the hillside (I'm really not sure what is there... terracing with vegetation?) seem to me to distract from the main effect of the image, which is successful and powerfully about remoteness and solitude for me.

Thanks a lot for your review and suggestion. Yes, that terracing with vegetation. I will tone them down more
