    Experiment with Topaz Simplify

I was interested in Wayland's Post on Simplifying his images. This reminded me of my experiments with Topaz Simplify. I tried it on an image of Old Town Bay on St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly. The original is here:

    and after applying Topaz Simplify:
    Experiment with Topaz Simplify
I felt that the original picture did not have anything special going for it, but the cartoonish version actually did something for me. I recognize that not everyone will agree with this, but that is what a forum like this is for!

The buildings in the background are the airport buildings, with various works being done there.

The original photo was taken with a Canon PowerShot SX260 HS, at f/5.6 at 1/1000, ISO 200.

Yes, a typical comic book image. I suppose the next step would be to add some foreground figures and witty comment in speech bubbles!

The original is not that bad, a common view for the locals. In order to make it more interesting, suggest shooting at different times of the day, the lack of shape revealing shadows has made the scene look 2-dimensional. I like the animated conversion.

Thanks Kay. I had thought about a postcard, or a greetings card.

Makes me think of stained glass wonder whether a scene with higher contrast colours would pop better.
