My lovely Lottie played for her country Wales last weekend at the Home internationals against England and Scotland. She was awesome and was awarded player of the series, MVP of the whole tournament - a massive achievement which makes her the best Lacrosse player in the UK.........very proud Mum ( have to admit I shed a tear)....

Congratulations! Great looking young person - vigorous, happy, whole, and successful at something she loves too. I am curious that she has the wisdom to protect her eyes (I'd be thinking teeth, too) while her vanquished foes seem not to. Are there not regulations for that in the UK?

Hi Mark, the only regulations in the UK is that they wear a gum shield which is crazy as over the years I have seen some terrible injuries. The reason behind it is it is not supposed to be a contact sport but when a hard rubber ball is being launched towards you at up to 100 mph any contact from that tends to be severe, never mind being bashed over the head and in the face with the stick.
In the USA all women must wear eye protection and this is also applies in the World Championships. The mens game allows contact therefore they are protect with helmets and body armour.

Thanks for that - the litigators over here have us so ultra safe - about everything! - that I was surprised to see those bare faces. Macho-tough Brit women, I guess. In a way - good on them - but the really ought to protect their eyes!
