Hi Barbara :) As far as I know David usually doesn't use a tripod and he is also able to shoot with one hand :) He is TALENTED ! :)

Yesterday, I practiced on the tip of my new orchid blooms...nice but it has a little bit of softness in it. I used a 200mm zoom lens. The lens has its own macro option. Then I put one of the tubes, one by one. then two, then all of them, hand-held. I think I should use my laptop to tether to my camera because it just got too close to the object for comfort. I found a shell in the garden near the hose. I will practice on that in the morning. It is just too windy out there. I think the change of season brings rains and thunder and lightning so from 72°F, weather had gone down dramatically to 40°+ so it is cold out there and wet and muddy. Not my type of shooting condition at all...until I can master how to use this lens and perhaps the tubes, I am not going to stop. Rubbish bins are not my kind of venue to photograph...:o OK...I will try without tubes tomorrow on that little shell I found...Thanks for the info.
No problem pal, if you are not using a dedicated Macro lens maybe you will be better with the tubes? I have a set but have not played with them yet, just practice practice then practice some more :o remember and show us your progress ;)
Cheers Binnur, you are making me blush:DI forgot to add that I dont use a tripod Barbara, as I feel it restricts to much :)
