I don't know what it is but the image looks nice Kris Are these real colors or is there a slight yellow color cast on the image?

Real colour, but slightly over saturated in PP. It's actually the flower of an aloe at its peek. They last about a week and then the petals are starting to fall off, leaving just an ugly stalk that can easily be removed when it's completely dried out.
I took this last year when we were in Texas - I can't grow them in Indiana. Those plants don't tolerate cold.

Izzie, FYI: my granddaughter always says they look like mini-bananas.

Certainly NOT aloe vera??? I have lots of them in honey-do's bathroom window...they only go out when the frost is over then in winter they go back to where they live where the sun can shine on them...they grow quite profusely. I started with one plant and now I can't even give them away...one leaf is very expensive in the Asian market...good for summer when you need it in a pinch treating sunburns, amongst other uses.

Yes, Aloe vera. I get flowers every year, and like you, I started out about 10 years ago with one little plant that was almost dead.
I don't have a green thumb, but these things are (lucky for me) low maintenance, and multiply like bunnies.
